FAQ

HOW LONG WILL THE UNC.A.G.ED PROGRAM BE?

The program will be 8-weeks long and will be from Saturday, October 3, 2020 through Saturday, November 21, 2020.

IS MY FAMILY ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM?

Your family is eligible to participate in the program if you have a child age 0-2, live in the Columbus, Ohio area, are of a racial/ethnic minority, and identify as low-income. We do not intend to verify income extensively, but we do hope to serve mostly families with a household income of $30,000 or less. If you fit this criteria, we'd love to have you in our program! Sign up by clicking the REGISTER NOW! button at the top of the page. If you do not fit this criteria, but would still like to be apart of the program, please email simonebacon.uncaged@gmail.com

WHAT WILL UNC.A.G.ED LOOK LIKE DUE TO COVID-19?

We have been actively adjusting our program to ensure that it is safe for your family! Our program will be delivered in a hybrid format with mostly virtual sessions and 2 optional social distant in-person gatherings. The book rotation program has also been moved to a curbside socially distant format for your safety. We are continually monitoring the safety guidelines of the Columbus community and surrounding areas and will regularly update our program families of any changes to the program structure.

MY FAMILY DOES NOT HAVE STABLE COMPUTER/INTERNET ACCESS. CAN I STILL PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM SINCE MUCH OF IT WILL BE VIRTUAL?

Yes! We will provide free Chromebook laptops on a rental basis for any family who is in need of one. For internet access, Comcast is offering the Internet Essentials service for free for 60 days. After the 60 day period, the internet cost is $9.95 per month. UnC.A.G.ED will cover the cost of the first $9.95 payment, so families in need will have access to free internet from October to December.

MY FAMILY DOES NOT HAVE STABLE TRANSPORTATION. CAN I STILL PARTICIPATE IN THE CURBSIDE BOOK ROTATION PROGRAM?

Yes! UnC.A.G.ED will provide free rideshare transportation (Uber/Lyft) to and from each curbside book rotation day for any families who may need transportation.
